Amexon has launched the marketing for its Residences at U Avenue project with renderings and a website. Located at 480 University Avenue, the tower will stand powerfully yet elegantly at a nexus for the city’s greatest institutions. Residents of this sleek University Avenue tower will have great views of downtown, Queen’s Park and the west end.
Amexon’s University Avenue project is unusual in that it takes the existing office tower at 480 University Avenue, redesigns it and adds condos on top. With a new façade, both office and condo components will be harmoniously integrated into a single tower.
Designed by Core Architects, the Residences at U Avenue’s all-glass condo tower is setback from its 18 story office podium. The podium will have fin panels attached vertically for visual texture. A glazed volume with a dash pattern will project onto University Avenue to warmly embrace the street. Commuters, however, will appreciate its direct underground connection to St. Patrick subway station.
With 453 units, the tower will reach 55 storeys along University Avenue. Its 19th floor will be dedicated to amenities: its pool, spa, terrace and exercise room. The Residences at U Avenue will also have a porte-cochère, a concierge and a lounge. The project will dedicate 30,000 square feet in total to its amenities.
The Residences at U Avenue is well located for professionals working downtown, with the Financial District, hospital row, Queen’s Park and City Hall in close proximity. Academics, students and intellectuals at heart will appreciate having the University of Toronto and Ryerson University within walking distance. Art lovers will enjoy the location near the Art Gallery of Ontario and OCAD University. University Avenue itself features many works of public art.
