Excavation is now underway for Tridel’s Ten York project. At 65 storeys, the tower at York and Harbour streets will form the southern edge of Toronto’s burgeoning southcore district. Ten York will also border on the city’s Harbourfront neighbourhood. Its singular location means easy access to the Financial District and waterfront.
Known for quality construction and management, Tridel is working to maximize the building’s energy efficiency in pursuit of LEED Gold certification for the building. With excavation started, the project site is now just below street level. Construction will take two years. Tentative occupancy is summer 2017.
Designed by Rudy Wallman of Wallman Architects, Ten York will maximize its wedge-shaped site with a distinctive triangular podium pointing westward. The podium’s York Street façade will be fully glazed—natural light will fill the double-storey lobby.
The wedge-shaped tower will be wide along its north and south faces but narrow from the west and east. The building will have features such as a concierge, party room, spa, water feature, pool, lounge, sauna, games room, exercise room, theatre room, guest suites, and a yoga and Pilates studio.
With 725 units, Ten York offers buyers a great variety of floor plans ranging from 582 square foot one-bedroom units to 1305 square foot three-bedroom units. An additional series of premium units called the Signature Collection ranges from 1176 square foot two-bedroom units to 2551 square foot three-bedroom units.
The location at the corner of York and Harbour has a perfect 100 out of 100 Walk Score and a 100 out of 100 transit score, making it easy to do daily errands without a car. Transit access is the best in the city with buses, streetcars, the subway, GO Transit and Via Rail a short walk away at Union Station. Residents will also be able to reach destinations such as the Financial District, Air Canada Centre and Rogers Centre, Ferry Docks and Harbourfront Centre quickly on foot.
Tridel’s Ten York will stand boldly on the skyline. Residents will have easy access to some of the city’s finest employment and leisure opportunities. With an unconventional site comes an unique opportunity to buy into an ideally located downtown condo tower.
