Construction is well underway for Amacon’s PSV & PSV 2 at Parkside Village. As a development creating walkable streets and contributing to a dense city neighbourhood, Parkside Village is critical to the success of Mississauga’s vision of creating a vibrant downtown of its own.
Amacon is building Parkside Village as a large multi-phase development on the west side of Mississauga City Centre. It will eventually total thirty acres of development including three parks. PSV & PSV 2 are Amacon’s current condo projects that join three towers completed last year: the Park Residences, the Residences of Parkside Village and the Grand Residences.
With crisply detailed podiums containing many storefronts, the first towers in the community do their part to make the streets more walkable. PSV & PSV 2 will continue to build an urban streetwall and add population density to support the storefronts.
Let’s be real. Mississauga isn’t going to recreate a slice of downtown Toronto in five or even ten years. Great city building takes generations. But as the former suburb puts together the pieces of its city-building puzzle, it already offers great features for those who call its city centre home.
Its newly renovated public square, Celebration Square, is one of the best public spaces in the GTA. It comes alive in the summer as Mississauga’s “urban living room”. People of all ages go to Celebration Square to relax, socialize, eat, see concerts, use their laptops with free WiFi and watch major sporting tournaments like the Olympics and World Cup on big screens. The nearby Living Arts Centre is also a great performing arts venue.
The area is home to corporate and professional offices, as well as the region’s largest mall at Square One—it’s possible to walk to work and for errands like grocery shopping every day. The Hurontario-Main LRT line, Mississauga Transitway and GO service improvements will make car-free living even easier in Mississauga in the coming years.
With PSV and PSV 2, homebuyers have more great options to live in a wonderful part of the GTA with a front seat view of Mississauga City Centre’s transformation. With the continuing success of projects like Parkside Village, the future is bright for the downtown vision of Canada’s sixth largest city.
