First Tower Rises at 2150 Condos as Phase 2 Enters Sales

With the first tower under construction at 2150 Condos, VHL Developments is now selling units in the project’s second phase. Located at 2150 Lawrence Avenue East, 2150 Condos features quality suites at a strikingly affordable price. The project also offers a good feature set, including free parking with all suites.
2150 Condos broke ground in 2013. The project will have 597 units in total in three towers. Each tower will be 19 storeys high with architecture by Master Building. The second tower is currently in sales as phase 2 of the development.
Units range from 580 to 950 square feet—from one to three bedrooms. Parking is included with each unit. 2150 Condos will have a 24-hour concierge. Residents will have exclusive access to its indoor swimming pool, as well as its exercise room, aerobics room, rooftop terrace and banquet-sized party room.

How affordable is 2150 Condos? Units in phase 2 start from $205,100 and go up to $343,600. Nevertheless, units will have features usually expected at higher price points. Kitchens will have granite countertops and glass tiled backsplashes. Each unit will have 12 millimetre laminate flooring in the living and dining rooms, kitchen, bedrooms and den.
The complex will be built at Lawrence Avenue East and Birchmount Road. It replaces a car dealership—promoting a walkable community with its dense built form along major streets. The corner location is a short drive from the Don Valley Parkway and highway 401. It is close to major shopping centres.

VHL Developments is building some of the GTA’s most affordable condos. The developer makes a business out of finding undervalued properties to redevelop, with the land costs savings passed on to buyers. Though lower in price, 2150 does not appear to be a work of compromise with an attractive feature set.
As we can no longer build outward in suburban areas like Scarborough, the city has to build upward to grow. With 2150 Condos demonstrates that the suburbs still offer opportunities for quality new construction at an accessible price.
